Phone to Phone Service

Phone to Phone is traditional telephony service where caller calls from phone connected to regular telephone line (PSTN) or mobile phone to other party silmilarly connected to PSTN or mobile phone network.

Our solution allows to bypass long distance or international carrier toll and use Internet as medium to carry the voice.

The typical components of this solution are:

  • PSTN to VoIP gateway (can be supplied by 3rd party)
  • VoIP Call Switching (provided by Arrow Telecom)
  • VoIP Call Billing (provided by Arrow Telecom)
  • VoIP to PSTN gateway (Call Termination) (provided by 3rd party or Arrow Telecom)

The typical call flow in this scenario is:

  • Caller picks up the phone and dials local access number.
  • Depending on if his telephone number is in service providers database , user can be authorized immediatelly or prompted to enter PIN if not.
  • Upon successful authorization, user is informed of his balance and prompted to enter destination number.
  • User is informed of his remaining call time and call is being connected with destination
  • Upon call completion, Call Detail Record (CDR) is generated and users account charged for the amount of call.

ArrowTelecom provides most of the components needed to create this service.

Following components should be provided by user separately:

  • PSTN to VoIP gateway
Traditional or classical way is to install VoIP gateway connected with telephony ports to Analogue or Digital telephone network and VoIP ports connected to Internet. Such gateways are usually availabe from vendors like Cisco (AS53xx, AS54xx, AS58xx), Quintum (AX, DX) or other vendors.
More attractive way is to use service providers which will provide PSTN to VoIP Gateway services for you. Companies like Voxbone can be used for this task. In countries where these services are not available it may be necessary to install own gateways
Arrow Telecom can support both options.
